THEATER

The transformational process of theater work is something I have always loved. It brings up the question of how much of our daily life is a string of predictable responses rather than choices. Once established, generally as young adults, we get so used to our own personality and of those around us, that we become generally quite attached to the predictability of it all. What I love in theater work is this shedding of that predictability and getting out of the attachment to our own patterning. We discover that the so called "self" that we are giving up to take on a role is not a self at all.  Because the self remains, only the predictable responses become under conscious direction. That release of old patterning is incredibly challenging and transformative.
